Columbia City High School’s Construction Trades students recently partnered with our Milestone Fort Wayne team to contribute to a meaningful project at Holderman Veteran Memorial Park in North Manchester. The students, part of the Construction Trades Career and Technical Education (CTE) program, assisted in pouring a concrete pad for a new statue of a kneeling soldier.
Together with the guidance of our crews the students got hands-on experience in preparing the concrete, pouring and stamping the concrete for the new memorial.
The current memorial is often overlooked, but with the help of the community, Gee Gee Tharp, president of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 286, is excited to change that this year.
Read more about the project and how we have partnered with Columbia City’s CTE Program to prep for the statue here.
