On November 13, Milestone received the Indiana Park and Recreation Association (IPRA) award for Corporate Partner of the Year at the Awards of Excellence Luncheon at the IPRA State Conference. Thomas Gott and Brent Foster were in attendance to accept the award, and are pictured above with Rebecca Swift, Operations and Development Division Director for Bloomington Parks and Recreation.

Over the years, our team has built a strong partnership with the city of Bloomington, and with the Bloomington Parks and Recreation team in particular. Bloomington Parks and Recreation nominated Milestone for our work developing and supporting the high-quality spaces and programs that bring Bloomington residents together.

In April of 2025, Milestone and the City of Bloomington celebrated the opening of Bloomington’s newest neighborhood park, Hopewell Commons, which was designed to be a welcoming space for the community. It provides residents with an area to enjoy outdoor activities, connect with nature and participate in community events. Milestone’s work on the project included all underground infrastructure, concrete, asphalt and dirt work. We’ve also led local infrastructure projects, including a complex stormwater improvement project that impacted a local playground. Balancing safety and efficiency with care for the community is key for our team, which is why we worked to maximize public access for the duration of the project. Bloomington Parks and Recreation has been an excellent partner at every turn.

As a local contractor, it’s important for us to support our public spaces through our work, investment and in-person involvement. “As a local myself, it’s rewarding to see a project that will benefit the community we live in and contribute to the overall quality of life in Bloomington,” said Thomas Gott.

“Milestone not only builds accessible public spaces but helps sustain family-friendly programming and supports the work of local artists,” shared the Bloomington Parks and Recreation team. “Their leadership, responsiveness and generosity underscore the critical role corporate partners play in advancing the mission of parks and recreation.”

We’re incredibly grateful for our partnership with Bloomington Parks and Recreation, and we look forward to working together in the future to create more valuable shared spaces for Bloomington residents to enjoy.
