The Indiana Constructors Leadership Institute (ICLI) is a program created by Indiana Constructors for the next generation of heavy highway and utility construction industry leaders. ICLI gives member companies the chance to engage individuals within their organization who could become next-generation leaders, and it exposes class members to industry knowledge from technical to soft skills. Two members of our Milestone team, Jeff Briggs and Dustin Lambert, are part of the 2024 participant class. They were nominated by their managers and leadership to have a spot among 10 others in this prestigious program. Throughout the program they will have countless opportunities to network, learn and develop as professionals.
“Milestone is lucky to be able to carry two members on this program who bring back knowledge to our team each year, “said Milestone Lafayette Area Manager and 2024 ICI Board Member Doug Pierce.

Since the program began in January Project Manager Jeff Briggs says he has found a lot of value just a few months in. “I am learning a lot about myself not only through the content within the classroom,” said Jeff. “But I also never knew how many opportunities I would get to meet and network with other industry professionals.”
ICLI Class Members meet once monthly to develop their leadership skills in various ways. Dustin and Jeff have completed leadership training with ADVISA, joined a development lesson on Indiana transportation funding at the Indiana Historical Society and State House and attended a communication and personal branding workshop held by Anthony Huey.
“We are very honored to be able to represent Milestone within all these recent opportunities,” said Dustin. “The relationships we are creating in this program are going to help build the future of our industry.”
The class will continue to meet monthly to develop their leadership skills and a plan of action to best cascade their learnings to their peers. In the upcoming months, ICLI members will be introduced to construction finance, complete a community service project and attend an ICI Executive Committee Panel. In December they will be official graduates of the program.
“This class is designed to find your weaknesses and then push you to get better,” says Jeff. “Eric Fisher and Richard Hedgecock are amazing people who have really invested into this program.”
Eric and Richard are the facilitators of the ICLI 2024 Class and spend a lot of dedicated hours setting up program sessions and visits. Thank you, Eric and Richard, for investing in the leaders of tomorrow!
