The best part about working in the construction industry is the variety of jobs I get to do. No job I have worked on has been the same. I have had the opportunity to work with concrete, asphalt, and bridge work! It is exciting to know I am building all different infrastructure.

Coming out of college, I had very limited understanding of the construction industry. There is so much more to the construction industry behind the scenes. Had I not taken an internship, I would have never been exposed to the other side of this vast industry I am now a part of. I would recommend anyone looking for their next step in choosing a career to consider a future in this advantageous industry.

After I finished the Milestone apprenticeship program, I have been working in the field for five years now. I love running the equipment and helping make stuff become. It’s a big deal to look around and say, “I helped do that.” It’s fun!

CJ has nearly 40 years of heavy highway and construction industry experience. He earned his B.A. in Business Management from North Carolina State University. He is a graduate of APAC’s Leadership Institute, the Executive Development Program at the Kelly School of Business, the Financial Management Program at the Kelly School of Business, and LEAN Management. After eight years as president of Milestone, he accepted the position of COO in 2020.
Amy has over 20 years of experience leading human capital and talent strategy. She has a BA from Franklin College and is a SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP). A lifelong Hoosier, after growing up in Mishawaka, IN, she has called Central Indiana home since college.
Todd attended Purdue University graduating in 1985 with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. Todd has been employed in the highway construction business for 33 years, most recently with Milestone Contractors for the past 22 years – first as an Estimating Manager and later VP/Area Manager. In 2020, he was named the North Regional President.
Mark started with Contractors United, Inc. in 1981 after graduating from Purdue University in Construction Engineering and Management. In 1987, he became a licensed Professional Engineer. He started in the Estimating Department and has had various leadership roles as the company grew. Mark is from Seymour and has lived in Columbus, IN the past 20 years.
Derek graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelor of Science in Construction Engineering and Management. In 1996, he joined our Milestone team and has held positions in our estimating department and operations. Now, with over 30 years of heavy highway construction experience, Derek serves as Regional President over our Concrete, Bridge and Ready-Mix Division. Derek grew up in Cambridge City, IN, where he raised his four children with his wife Nanette. He now resides in the Indianapolis area.
Russell started with Milestone Contractors in 1997 and has over 32 years of experience in the areas of environmental, industrial hygiene, training, and construction safety. Russell has a bachelor degree in Safety Management from Indiana State University and a masters degree in management from Indiana Institute of Technology.
Brad attended Purdue University graduating in 1982 with a Bachelor of Science in Building Construction Technology. Brad started with Contractors United, Inc. in 1986 as an Estimator. In 1994 as the company grew and merged into what we know as Milestone Contractors, he was named Director of Estimating in the Indianapolis office. In 202o, he promoted to Vice President of Estimating.
Lynn began his career in the construction industry as part of an asphalt paving crew with Contractors United, Inc in 1988. He has been with Milestone for over 35 years and as the company has expanded, he has held various leadership positions and continued to develop his expertise in equipment strategy and heavy highway construction. He is based in Indianapolis and resides in Columbus, IN.
