Sustainability is a core value for Milestone and The Heritage Group. We are always keeping our eyes open for opportunities to take action in being an eco-friendly company. Such as getting rid of plastic and paper cups at The Center, or HC+M building a tree per follower gained on social media. At Milestone, some of our best recycling efforts are taken by the CIR process with our asphalt materials. All of these are noble actions, but it is important that we always push ourselves to be better than ever before.

Earth Day is coming up on Saturday, April 22nd. In honor of that, we are sharing ways that each employee can take responsibility in bettering our globe, not just on Earth Day, but on any and every day of the year!

Tips on how to celebrate Earth Day:

  • Turn off the tap. Whenever your brushing your teeth, washing dishes, or taking a shower, turn off the water when it’s not needed.
  • Reusable bags. Take your own reusable bags with you to the grocery store to reduce the use of plastic.
  • Reusable water bottle. Instead of purchasing bottled water, use a refillable water bottle and filter system.
  • Clean up trash. Go to local park and pick up any trash you see!
  • Start an Adopt-A-Highway group. INDOT’s Adopt-A-Highway program helps significantly reduce roadside trash problems.

All of these are inexpensive ways you can partake in sustainability efforts both at home, in office, and in your communities! Thank you for your efforts towards a greener Earth. Happy Earth Day!
