This year we nominated Senior Project Accountant, Meredith Hughes, to take part in Indiana Constructors Leadership Institute. This program was created by Indiana Constructors for the next generation of heavy highway and utility construction industry leaders. ICLI provides member companies the opportunity to engage individuals within their organization who exhibit the potential to become next-generation leaders, specifically executive-level leadership, with other like-minded individuals. This program exposes these participants to industry knowledge from technical to soft skills. Two members of our Milestone team, Meredith Hughes, and Josh Burris are Class 2023 attendees of this program. Throughout their time they have had countless opportunities to network, learn, and develop as professionals.

Some of the classes they have attended this year include a CBIZ Somerset construction finance course, communication and personal branding workshops taught by Anthony Huey from Brooks Construction Company, and many safety courses such as becoming CPR and first aid certified. By equipping them with these skills and knowledge they need to succeed as leaders, ICLI is helping to benefit them and the industry as a whole.

Meet Merideth Hughes, ICLI Class of 2023

Merideth Hughes is a senior project accountant for Milestone Contractors, L.P. in Indianapolis and Terre Haute. A 2011 graduate of Harrison College with a bachelor’s degree in business management, she was in the banking industry before transitioning to construction five years ago.

During the ICLI program, Hughes hopes to develop stronger leadership skills to continue to bridge the gap between office and field personnel. She also hopes to gain a more in depth understanding of the state’s decision-making processes for the heavy highway industry.
